OVERVIEW
The Mouse is the card of inconvenience. It indicates annoyances, frustrations, delays, damage, wasted time or money, and anything going wrong, breaking down, going bad, expiring, deteriorating, or going nowhere. Under its influence, problems are thrown our way and we have to stop everything to deal with them. The card also indicates theft or losses, material or otherwise. It generally causes stress and agitation, sometimes causing physical anxiety or palpitations.
With people, it’s also bad news as it indicates someone untrustworthy, unreliable, stressful, draining, nagging, or plain annoying. But by itself, the Mouse is not very strong as bright cards can overcome it and possibly help us recover whatever had been lost. However, if left unchecked, it can grow into big problems.
IN THE PORTRAIT & GRAND TABLEAU
On the first or central card of the nine-card portrait, we could suffer a loss or experience any of the issues associated with the Mouse. The best advice here is to focus on getting the details right while remaining alert to anything else that could go wrong. Additionally, and especially in the central position, the Mouse answers a query negatively, suggesting disappointment and things not working out as desired. But with bright cards nearby, especially powerful ones, this can be overturned, suggesting that things can materialize as we would like them to despite some delays, or once obstacles are out of the way.
Whether near or far, the Mouse indicates losses and theft. But when near, there’s a good chance we can recover the loss, especially with positive cards nearby. With timing, the Mouse nearby suggests a few days. On the other hand, the farther the Mouse, the harder it will be to recover whatever had been lost, and timing depends on whether opportunities present themselves. At the same time, when the Mouse is near, stress and illness are possible, but when it’s far, we’re protected from its stresses. So the effects of the Mouse in the Tableau depend on the issues it’s highlighting – loss or stress – and surrounding cards must be examined.
ADVICE
When it appears, the Mouse alerts us to the possibility of things going wrong, something being lost or stolen, or someone who isn’t trustworthy. We need to rectify the issue before it gets worse, so we can stop the bleeding and prevent bigger problems down the line. Although it’s not very strong in its negativity, it’s a warning sign. The Mouse also asks us to avoid being overly critical of others.
